Lifeline’s Prison Directorate staff training packages have undergone a comprehensive review to support the development of our teams working across prison establishments. In 2016 a full programme of revised and new training packages is available.

To support delivery of these training packages, we need to identify and train a number of enthusiastic and skilled area trainers who are working in a prison based role. This is a unique opportunity to develop new skills as well as to enhance and build upon your existing knowledge. You can use this exciting opportunity to advance your personal and professional development.

To be successful as an Area Trainer, you will have:

  • A passion for delivering staff training.
  • The ability to represent Lifeline positively and contribute to our values led recovery approach.
  • The ability to work independently within a structured framework.
  • Commitment to deliver a minimum of 6 days training per year, locally and occasionally in other areas.
  • The ability to deliver effective and organised training sessions, including oversight of organising sessions
  • Motivation and enthusiasm.

Please note that the role will be in addition to your existing role and will require travel across your regional area and you must be able to meet this requirement. You may also be required to deliver training across the Directorate on occasion. Area trainers will be required and supported to deliver the full range of training sessions

Team members interested in this role should submit an expression of interest of no more than one A4 page

  1. Detailing how you meet the above criteria
  2. What you bring to this opportunity
  3. Your relevant skills and experiences

For internal applicants only –

Please forward an expression of interest to Felicity Armstrong, Prison Directorate Training Lead at: [email protected]

Please discuss this opportunity with your line manager before submitting an expression of interest to ensure you can be released from your current role for at least 6 days per year plus attend the Training for Trainers course (two days) and occasional training team meetings.

Closing Date: 4pm – 20/06/16

Expressions of interest received after this date will not be considered.
